En 1983 Christian Courtois annonçait à un groupe d’amis , son intention de créer une compagnie théâtrale.
Petit-fils de Jeanne Courtois-Sonveaux, déjà sur les planches du Théâtre Royal de Namur dans les années trente et le fils d’Aimé Courtois.
A l’heure ou nous écrivons ces lignes le THEATRE COURTOIS THEATRE FRANÇAIS a joué 180 représentations devant plus de 152.000 spectateurs.
Parmi celles-ci, citons : Macbeth de Shakespeare joué devant une salle comble au théâtre de Namur,
Diable d’homme (16 fois), Namur, Cologne, Eupen, Dinant, Thuin, Thy-le-Château….
Huis clos de JP Sartre (8 fois),
Le dernier Train et En attendant Stéphanie (8fois à Bruxelles)
Les Zoulous, (24 fois à Avignon, et 5 fois à l’atelier Bastille à Paris)
Brel en Poèmes
Quelle nuit, Impair et père, Panique au Plazza, Tout bascule ….

En 2003 Christian Courtois manifeste le désir de passer la main non sans le regret et l’insistance de l’ensemble des membres de l’ASBL.
Un nouveau conseil d’administration est donc élu, et le Théâtre Courtois – Théâtre Français qui ne changera pas de nom est depuis dirigé dans le même esprit « Courtois » par Liliane et Jean Pierre HURET.

Grand son of Jeanne Courtois-Sonveaux already on the boards of the Theatre Royal de Namur in the thirties and the son of Aimé Courtois.

A time or writing this words, THEATRE COURTOIS - THEATRE FRENCH played 180 performances at front of more than 152,000 spectateurs. Among these include: « Macbeth » from Shakespeare’s played in front of a full auditorium in the Theater of Namur, Devil Man (16 times), Namur, Cologne, Eupen, Dinant, Thuin, Thy-le-Château …. « Huis Clos from J-P Sartre (8 times), The Last Train and Waiting for Stephanie (8 times Brussels) The Zulus (24 times in Avignon, and 5 times in the workshop Bastille in Paris) Brel Poems « What a night », and Odd father, Panic at the Plaza, Everything changes ….

In 2003 Christian Courtois feel the desire to hand, not without regret and the insistence of all members of the association.

A new board of directors is elected Courtois and the « Theatre Courtois – Theatre French » will not change of name and is motivated in the same spirit « Courtois » by Lilian and Jean-Pierre HURET.

A mi-chemin entre sculpture et architecture, vestige du passé aux allures résolument futuriste et emblème iconique de la galaxie 58, L’Atomium est en soi un lieu naturellement dédié au design. Après la rétrospective Van der Meeren et l’exposition sur le Modernisme ludique, l’Atomium dans le cadre de DESIGN SEPTEMBER se plonge au cœur de l’univers du design contemporain.

De septembre à novembre, INTERSECTIONS. Belgian Design offre une rétrospective du travail de Nicolas Destino, Jean-François D’Or et Linde Hermans.

A travers la rencontre de ces trois artistes, l’Atomium propose un regard croisé sur le design d’aujourd’hui. Où puisent-ils leur inspiration et d’où leur vient cet intérêt? Du prototype à la vente quel est le processus de création et de production d’un objet ? Autant de questions auxquelles l’exposition Intersections répond sur un mode aussi ludique que pédagogique.

Midway between sculpture and architecture, vestige of a past with a decidedly futuristic appearance and iconic emblem of Galaxy 58, the Atomium is in itself a place naturally dedicated to design. Following the Van der Meeren retrospective and the exhibition devoted to Ludic Modernism, the Atomium – on the occasion of DESIGN SEPTEMBER© – will honour contemporary design through the work of three young artists.
From September to November, INTERSECTIONS. Belgian Design will be investigating the nature of contemporary design.
The creative worlds of Nicolas Destino, Jean-François D’Or and Linde Hermans are the common threads in this in-depth exploration which goes to the heart of the universe of contemporary design. Where do they draw their inspiration from and where does this interest originate? From the prototype to the sale, what is the process of creation and production behind an object? So many questions, all of which the Intersections exhibition will answer in a manner which is both playful and educational.
